We use premium longleaf pine straw — the gold standard for landscaping in the Gulf Coast region. Longleaf pine straw is longer, thicker, and more durable than slash pine straw. It locks together better, stays in place through rain and wind, and gives your beds a clean, finished look that lasts.

We offer both! You can order pine straw delivery only if you prefer to spread it yourself, or we can handle the full installation — spreading, tucking, and edging your beds so everything looks neat and professional. Just let us know what you need when you request your free estimate.

The amount you’ll need depends on the size of your landscape beds and how thickly you prefer the pine straw to be installed. One of our rolls can cover approximately 125–150 square feet when spread 2–3 inches deep. For a thicker, fuller application, we recommend estimating approximately one roll per 100 square feet. Actual coverage varies by bed shape, existing pine straw and preferred depth. If you’re unsure, send us your measurements or photos, or request a free estimate. For professional installations, we bring extra rolls and charge only for the amount we actually install.

Many Northwest Florida properties refresh their pine straw every 6–12 months to restore its color, thickness and freshly installed appearance. The timing varies depending on sunlight, rain, wind, foot traffic and how thickly it was originally installed. Some areas may need refreshing sooner, while more protected landscape beds may look good longer.

Pine straw and mulch both have their place, but longleaf pine straw has some real advantages in our climate. It's lightweight, easy to spread, naturally acidic (great for azaleas, gardenias, and other Gulf Coast plants), and it locks together so it doesn't wash away as easily as shredded mulch. It also tends to be more affordable. Many homeowners in our area prefer the natural, clean look it gives their beds.
